SAN FRANCISCO — Brandon Belt’s 2014 season was nearly ended by a serious concussion, but the first baseman made it back in time to hit a clutch homer in the 18th inning of Game 2 of the NLDS that helped propel the Giants to a title. A year later, Belt might not get to go out on such a high note.
Belt has his second concussion in two years and will “miss some time,” manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday. With just 15 games remaining, there’s a good chance that Belt — who has a bad history with concussions — will not play again.
