WASHINGTON - The last time the Giants faced Stephen Strasburg, they beat him 3-1. The winning pitcher was one tough hombre, a guy who was nearly blinded by a pitch in May then came back the other night and allowed three hits over six innings.
On Saturday night, this year's fifth starter, Matt Cain, will face Strasburg, who is 15-1 and the reigning National League Pitcher of the Month for July. His ERA for July plus one start in August was 1.99, and it was only THAT high because the Dodgers somehow blasted him for six runs in six innings July 21.
