LOS ANGELES - The Giants season, mercifully, has reached its final week, with six more games to see if they can avoid 100 losses, bid farewell to Matt Cain, learn how high they will pick in the 2018 amateur draft and go home to see how quickly they can forget 2017.
The Giants' penultimate week ended Sunday with a 3-1 loss that will be remembered for Mac Williamson hitting a moon shot over the center-field against Clayton Kershaw, but little else.
Williamson had three hits against Kershaw, as did Hunter Pence, which was quite a feat in light of Pence's lifetime futility hitting his fellow big Texan (10-for-76).
