NEW YORK – Johnny Cueto made 213 starts over eight years with the Cincinnati Reds, winning 92 of them.
Not once did he celebrate with a steaming bowl of Skyline Chili — the town’s most beloved dish, for all its gastronomically questionable attributes.
“Now I can go,” said Cueto, who was excited to learn that he’ll start the Giants’ series opener at Great American Ball Park on Monday. “I don’t have my family with me. When I was in Cincinnati, my family always cooked for me.”
