Giants HQ: Five things we learned as pitchers and catchers arrive in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE — There’s a different feel around Scottsdale Stadium this spring and it’s not only because the Giants have a new manager and a 13-person coaching staff.

Giants senior managing director Jon Knorpp took a lead in overseeing the project and said the team began creating plans for the building with the city of Scottsdale about four years ago. There’s still dozens of construction workers putting the finishing touches on the complex, but Knorpp said the building is “100 percent functional” and the Giants were free to use every room on Tuesday.
