Giants have new top pitching prospect, tons of outfielders in MLB top prospect rankings

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Shortstop Marco Luciano skyrocketed up prospect rankings with an incredible debut summer in the Arizona Rookie League, but the 18-year-old isn’t the Giants’ top overall prospect.

According to MLB.com’s Top 30 prospect list released Thursday, that honor still belongs to catcher Joey Bart who is enjoying another strong big league camp and is in a great position to make his major league debut in 2020.

Luciano’s remarkable offensive showing in the Arizona League helped him climb above 20-year-old outfielder Heliot Ramos on MLB.com’s latest rankings, but Ramos only dropped one spot as he still slots in ahead of the Giants’ 2019 first round draft choice, Hunter Bishop.
