SAN FRANCISCO — Mac Williamson is out and Mike Yastrzemski is in as the Giants continue to shuffle the deck with comical regularity.
Williamson, whom the Giants had hoped would be the answer in left field, was designated for assignment Saturday. Yastrzemski, the grandson of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer, was called up from Triple-A Sacramento.
Williamson, 28, was batting .118 after 15 games (6 hits in 51 at-bats). He struck out five times Thursday and three more times Friday night.
Yastrzemski, 28, was batting .316 with 12 home runs and a .676 slugging percentage.
