SAN FRANCISCO — Left-handed pitcher Derek Holland was designated for assignment or release by the Giants on Sunday, a handful of moves the team made in advance of their series-ending game with the New York Mets at Oracle Park.
Left-hander Ty Blach was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento, and infielder Ryder Jones was also designated for assignment.
Conner Menez was officially selected from Sacramento and will start Sunday’s game. Infielder Zach Green was also selected from the River Cats.
