Giants complete sweep of Phils behind Heston, Susac

One starter ended the first half 9-5 with a 3.31 ERA and boarded a jet for the All-Star Game.

Another ended 9-5 with a 3.39 ERA and a no-hitter and will spend the break in Tahoe, where he plans to reflect on what he termed a “crazy” three-plus months that propelled him not only to fame in San Francisco and beyond, but also into a position of importance with the Giants.

The first set of stats belong to Madison Bumgarner, the second to Chris Heston, who was not part of the Opening Day roster but made 18 first-half starts and soared into the break after pitching his team to Sunday’s 4-2 victory and a sweep of the majors-worst Phillies.
