Five things to know about new SF Giants general manager Scott Harris

SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants left their general manager position vacant during president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi’s first season in San Francisco, but the job has now been filled.

The team announced Sunday that Chicago Cubs assistant general manager Scott Harris has been hired as the 10th general manager in franchise history.

Harris will officially be introduced on Monday at Oracle Park, but in the meantime, there’s plenty to learn about a new figure tasked with helping turn the Giants into contenders again.
