As the SF Giants sold at the trade deadline after a disastrous second half, the Los Angeles Dodgers made some moves as well. They traded pitcher Dustin May to the Boston Red Sox, and in exchange they got former Giants first-round pick James Tibbs III.
Tibbs was drafted by San Francisco in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft. The Florida State product got off to a hot start in the minor leagues this year before cooling off and eventually he was part of the trade that landed Rafael Devers.
