'Extremely patronizing': SF Giants' attempt to woo A's fans completely backfires

In the first regular-season series since the A’s were ripped away from Oakland to a temporary home in West Sacramento, the Giants wanted East Bay baseball fans to feel welcome at Oracle Park this past weekend. But to the aggrieved die-hards, their former cross-bay rivals missed the mark.

“I just thought it wasn’t needed,” Bryan Johansen, co-founder of Last Dive Bar, one of the Oakland “Reverse Boycott” organizers, told SFGATE over the phone. “Anybody that’s in the know knows that the Giants’ ownership voted for this — they voted to relocate and get rid of the A’s.
