Buster Posey finally has the SF Giants flexing their financial might

Friends, we gather here today to mourn the passing of the “Break-Even Ball” era of the San Francisco Giants. It lasted the better part of a decade, a disenfranchising malaise of sound financial decisions and bore-inducing transactions designed to make the most fiscal sense for Giants ownership at the expense of the on-field product. It died a horrible, deserved death on June 15, 2025, at the hands of the team’s president of baseball operations. It will not be missed.

Pardon me if I come off a little discombobulated in this column, because I’m still in shock.
