The Giants are getting their best player back.
Madison Bumgarner will make his much-anticipated season debut Tuesday night against the D-backs at AT&T Park, as he returns from the 60-day disabled list. Bumgarner fractured the fifth metacarpal in his pitching hand on a comebacker during the final start of what was a stellar Spring Training. Over 8 1/3 innings in two rehab outings, Bumgarner gave up just two hits, one for a solo homer, with 15 strikeouts and one walk.
Bumgarner will square off against Arizona's Patrick Corbin, who has been one of the Majors' best starters this year but is coming off his worst outing: a six-run showing over six innings against the Reds on Thursday.
