OAKLAND -- The Giants announced Friday that first baseman Brandon Belt will go on paternity leave.
Belt could miss as many as three games as he tends to his wife, Haylee, as she gives birth to the couple's second child. Belt, batting .287 in 81 games, leads San Francisco in home runs (13) and RBIs (42).
Pablo Sandoval is a likely replacement at first base in Belt's absence.
The Giants recalled first baseman-outfielder Ryder Jones to replace Belt on the roster.
