Back on Sept. 13, after the San Francisco Giants clinched a playoff spot, team CEO Larry Baer issued the world's least inspiring clap-back directed at the Fangraphs playoff model.
"I don't know if you're a big fan of Fangraphs — they said 5% back in February for the Giants making the playoffs," he chuckled to NBC Sports Bay Area.
The Giants had many preseason doubters who probably deserved more critiques than a website's algorithm, but Baer was correct that Fangraphs was very, very off-base. And now Giants fans are hoping that's the case yet again.
