SF Giants Trade Rumors: Giants Interested In David Price

The defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants currently hold the second Wild Card spot in the National League and remain within striking distance of the Dodgers in the NL West -- the perfect recipe for a HUGE move before the MLB trade deadline next Friday.

Via Jon Morosi of FOX Sports:

The Detroit Tigers sit at 47-49 heading into play on Saturday, 10.5 games out in the AL Central and seven games out of the second Wild Card spot in the American League. While that is in no way insurmountable with the talent collection the Tigers have assembled, it's still extremely feasible that they'll shift into traditional buyer mode before next week's deadline -- especially if they scuffle this weekend against Boston.

Price is due a pro-rated amount of his $19.75 million for this year before hitting free agency this winter. He is 9-3 this year with a 2.31 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 134-to-27 K/BB ratio in 140 innings pitched (20 starts).
