SF Giants Rumors: Giants unlikely to trade Marco Scutaro?

In today's edition of SF Giants rumors, the San Francisco Giants may be unlikely to trade beloved infielder Marco Scutaro -- despite the nagging back issues which have him out indefinitely.

According to Henry Schulman of SFGate.com, the SF Giants may wait till the middle of the summer to make a decision on the future of Marco Scutaro with the club: "A lot of folks are asking me about alternatives if Scutaro cannot come back this year. Remember, few trades are made this time of year. They are very rare, and a buyer would have to pay a very steep price."

"This is turning into a sadder story for the Giants by the day. Whenever we ask about him we get the same answer. He continues to do baseball work and conditioning in Arizona in hopes of calming his back issues. But he is not playing in extended-spring games," Schulman said.

This raises speculation as to how far out the Giants are from having him back even at the minor league level. However, don't expect the SF Giants to be too rash when it comes to making any decisions on Scutaro's future.
