Hunter Pence gets his prized scooter back in tonight's Giants news update

The ultimate whodunnit gripped the Giants news cycle when outfielder Hunter Pence's prized scooter was stolen in front of a restaurant in the Embarcadero district on Sunday.

Per John Shea of SFGate.com, the scooter is now back in Pence's possession: "The right fielder’s beloved scooter was returned to the Giants’ clubhouse today by the San Francisco Police Department. The news broke when team chef Joe Day, who designs scooters for players, posted a picture of Pence’s beloved ride back at home, near his locker."

Here's Day's pic of Pence's swiped (and ultimately returned) ride:

According to police spokesperson Officer Albie Esperanza, a group of unidentified people brought to the scooter to AT&T Park on Wednesday and handed it over to officers there.

Tim Lincecum gave his account of the scooter's return, accompanied by three police officers to the clubhouse:

“That’s a better chaperone than we get to the airport,” Lincecum quipped.

All's well that ends well in crime and scooters.
