SAN FRANCISCO – "It's easy, and it's very clear," said associate head coach Troy Nakamura when asked why after 22 years he has stayed at USF. "It's the opportunity that Coach Giarratano provides us to be the best version of ourselves every day."
Coach Nakamura has dedicated 26 years of his life to Dons Baseball. The four-time letter winner patrolled the spacious center field of Benedetti Diamond before assuming his familiar place in the coaches' box.
It could be argued that few have had a bigger impact on the baseball program than Nakamura. His teams in the late 90's were some of the best in program history, and as recruiting coordinator, he's seen some of the program's great players move on the next level.
