Ninth-Inning Rally Falls Short as Dons Drop Series Finale to Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (13-7) dropped a 7-4 decision in the series finale to Creighton (14-3) Sunday afternoon at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.

  • San Francisco gained an early 1-0 advantage in the opening frame, showing discipline at the plate to work four straight walks. With the bases loaded and two outs, Mattie Thomas picked up the RBI, scoring Kody Watanabe on a seven-pitch walk.
  • Creighton responded in the bottom of the first inning, evening the score at one on a Nolan Sailors RBI double to right-center field.
