Dons Overcome Deficit, Defeat Roadrunners on the Road

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The University of San Francisco baseball team (6-3), competing in its first road game of the season, overcame a four-run deficit and defeated CSU Bakersfield (0-9) 11-7 Friday evening at Hardt Field.

  • CSU Bakersfield jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Zavien Watson RBI double to left field. Adam Shew, the Dons' starting pitcher, quickly retired the first two batters before Brock Perreira earned a two-out walk. In the following at-bat, Watson connected on an extra-base hit that scored Perreira from first.
