SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - On Dec. 17, 2021, after receiving complaints from members of the USF community, USF baseball head coach Nino Giarratano and associate coach Troy Nakamura were suspended with pay, pending results of an internal investigation. Conducted by USF's Office of Human Resources, the investigation was focused on reports of incidents within the baseball program when the coaches' language, behavior and/or actions were inappropriate and did not reflect USF's mission and values.
As a result of that investigation, Coach Nakamura is no longer associated with the USF baseball program, effective immediately. Coach Giarratano was officially reprimanded for inappropriate behavior related to the reported incidents.
