San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle took to social media to refute reports that he’s skipping voluntary workouts because of a contract dispute.
Kittle was not in Santa Clara on Tuesday for the first day of the 49ers’ offseason slate. It was not surprising, particularly after a report Monday from the Athletic’s Mike Silver framed the impending absence as contract-related.
“Kittle, heading into the final year of a five-year, $75-million deal, is much more of a longshot, as he and the 49ers remain far apart in discussions about a new deal,” Silver wrote.
