Former 49ers defensive tackle Earl Mitchell un-retired this week to join the team in their playoff drive.

The Niners signed the 32-year-old veteran lineman, who last played in the 2018-19 season, to shore up a depleted run defense. Nose tackle D.J. Jones went down with a season-ending high ankle sprain on Dec. 10, and lineman Julian Taylor tore an ACL in practice last week.
