There are plenty of memories for 49ers fans that involve Vernon Davis. San Francisco drafted Davis sixth overall in the 2006 draft. I remember the shock from analysts that “you don’t take a tight end that high.” Davis will always be remembered for blowing up the combine. The tight end out of Maryland ran a 4.38 40-yard dash and jumped 42” in the vertical. Fourteen years later, he’s still a productive receiving threat for Washington, the 49ers Week 7 opponent. Davis is in his fourth season with Washington. He has ten receptions on the season for 123 yards and a touchdown.
