San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Torrey Smith joined Baltimore Ravens running back Justin Forsett in Flint, Michigan today to help out with the water crisis that has gripped the city. Forsett and Smith were part of a group of NFL players that donated $100,000 worth of anti-bacterial body wipes and water to Flint residents.
The issue has gained nation-wide awareness, and getting NFL players out there only further serves to get it on people's radars. It is an embarrassment that this even has to be a story, but props to Smith, Forsett, and so many others who are doing what they can to help the unfortunate victims of this toxic water scandal.
