The good and not so good from 49ers training camp: Day 12

SANTA CLARA – Here’s what stood out Tuesday at practice.

THE GOOD

  1. WR Dante Pettis. Returned to the starting lineup after playing with the backups during the preseason opener, and beat Richard Sherman with a double move to make a 30-yard catch. Pettis created at least five yards of space between him and Sherman, who looked lost on that play. This is the kind of play we saw Pettis make during his rookie season.
  2. WR Jalen Hurd. Caught two of three passes from Nick Mullens, and caught a touchdown pass from Wilton Speight in the red zone.
