The 49ers' rushing game is alarmingly bad, even with a healthy Christian McCaffrey

There were plenty of glaring issues to choose from throughout the 49ers’ woeful performance against the Jaguars on Sunday, but only one shortcoming has proved to be particularly concerning just four weeks into this season: the rushing game.

San Francisco finished with just 83 yards on the ground in the 26-21 loss to Jacksonville, the latest subpar output in a season that’s been full of them. The Niners are last in the NFC in yards per game (88.0) and yards per attempt (3.3), but most damning is the fact that they’re the only team in the NFL without a rushing touchdown.
