By the time Colin Kaepernick came to the 49ers, Terrell Owens had been gone for eight years. So they were never teammates indeed. But it appears that T.O. senses a kindred spirit in Kaepernick.
They are joined by their 49ers heritage and their Bay Area experience, their race, their inclination to trust their judgment above others, their disinclination to engage in small talk. Both could rightly claim to have been misunderstood.
Against that backdrop, it is no big surprise that T.O. rode to the rescue of Kaepernick in the wake of the latter’s chaotic workout last weekend.
