For Steve Young, it’s all about space in evaluating Super Bowl 50 quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Cam Newton. Young stopped oh so briefly to talk to sfgate.com Monday about how he sees the differences between the 39-year-old Manning and the 28-year-old Newton.
“You got to understand that Peyton is hurt,” Young said after media night at the SAP Center before literally running off to put his kids to bed. “His foot is not going to get better for four or five months, so he is not capable of being who you think he should be.”
For that reason, the advantage at quarterback seems to swing to Newton.
