No doubt, Brock Purdy is the best quarterback the San Francisco 49ers have had for a very, very long time. And he's rightfully earned the lucrative $265 million contract extension given to him during the offseason.
But, even Purdy has his faults.
The Niners' 26-21 Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars highlighted a certain aspect about Purdy's game that's becoming awfully concerning. Perhaps it's part of a greater picture, but it's becoming hard to ignore the reality that San Francisco's franchise signal-caller doesn't exactly have that keen knack for coming up big late in games, particularly when his team is playing from behind.
