Seahawks will not match 49ers offer sheet to Garry Gilliam

The Seattle Seahawks wasted no time making it clear they have no interest in retaining offensive lineman Garry Gilliam. Seahawks reporter Sheil Kapadia and NFL reporter Ian Rapoport have both learned the Seahawks will not match the offer sheet Gilliam signed with the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers signed Gilliam to a one-year contract worth $2.2 million, with $1.4 million guaranteed, according to Kapadia. The Seahawks tender offer to Gilliam was for $1.797 million, and unlike a franchise tender, would not have been guaranteed upon signing. The Seahawks had five days to match Gilliam’s offer sheet, but they made a quick decision on this one.
