Garrison Smith became the second ex-49er to join the Seahawks in as many days while the Bengals claimed quarterback Jeff Driskel, a sixth-round draft pick by the 49ers.
Two other ex-49ers, outside linebacker Corey Lemonier and rookie receiver Bryce Treggs, also were snapped up by other teams.
Smith, who was one of two preseason stars for San Francisco, was claimed by Seattle off of waivers after the 49ers released Smith Saturday. A day earlier, the 49ers sent safety L.J. McCray to Seattle for a late-round, future draft pick. The other player who stood out in the preseason, outside linebacker Marcus Rush, was not claimed.
