Ronnie Lott received a 3-year contract 26 years ago today, and was a Raider a year later

It’s not Thursday so this does not qualify as a Throwback Thursday, but I was still intrigued by the timing of some recent news. 26 years ago today, Ronnie Lott agreed to a three year-contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers that would pay him over $1 million per year. Darren Rovell tweeted a picture of this newspaper article discussing the deal.

According to the report, Lott would be exceeding $1 million per year for the first time in his career.
