Report: 49ers part with strength coach Mark Uyeyama

Mark Uyeyama, who’s led the 49ers’ strength and conditioning program under their past five head coaches, reportedly won’t last through another coaching transition.

Uyeyama will not return for a 10th season with the club, CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco reported Thursday.

The 49ers are expected to hire Kyle Shanahan as coach after Sunday’s Super Bowl, once he concludes his duties as the Atlanta Falcons offensive coordiantor.

Uyeyama left the college ranks to join the 49ers in 2008 under then-coach Mike Nolan as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. After Nolan and Mike Singletary’s departures as coach, he was elevated to head strength coach under Jim Harbaugh.
