Ray Lewis claims Ravens didn't sign Kaepernick because of his girlfriend

Former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis says that Colin Kaepernick would have a job today if not for his girlfriend's social media presence.

Lewis, who appeared on Showtime's "Inside the NFL" on Tuesday night, claimed that the Ravens were close to signing Kaepernick when his girlfriend Nessa Diab tweeted a "racist" photo. The tweet showed Lewis embracing Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, unfavorably comparing Lewis to Samuel L. Jackson's loyal slave character in "Django Unchained."

"We were going to close the deal to sign him," Lewis said. "Steve Bisciotti said, 'I want to hear Colin Kaepernick speak to let me know that he wants to play football.
