Raiders put Gareon Conley on injured reserve

The Raiders placed cornerback Gareon Conley, their first-round pick, on injured reserve Monday, ending his season.

Conley had not played since Week 3 because of a shin injury. The Raiders also reinstated defensive tackle Darius Latham from the reserve/suspended list to take Conley’s spot on the active roster.

Conley, the 24th overall pick in this year’s draft from Ohio State, missed training camp, preseason and Week 1 with the shin injury. He made his NFL debut in Week 2 against the Jets and played in one more game before encountering a setback.

General manager Reggie McKenzie told reporters last week the Raiders were “trying to give it some time to calm down and see if (Conley) can play.
