Now Seahawks’ Pete Carroll appears to be saying something different about Kaepernick

If nothing else, Seattle Seahawks Pete Carroll is an optimist.

A week after it was reported that former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was disinvited to work out for the Seahawks, Carroll told Seattle radio station KJR, “The discussion and the opportunity is still open.”

Kaepernick, who has been unable to find work in the NFL since he opted out of his 49ers contract early in 2017, was reportedly set to fly to Seattle so the Seahawks could kick his tires. But the team abruptly called off the workout.

It was reported at the time that the Seahawks balked when Kaepernick declined to offer assurances that he was finished with his social justice kneel-downs during the national anthem.
