Arizona Cardinals star cornerback Patrick Peterson will reportedly serve a six-game suspension but he still will be eligible to twice face the 49ers this season.
Peterson will serve the suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday.
Peterson will be eligible to return to action on Oct. 20 against the New York Giants. In Week 9, the Cardinals host the 49ers on Thursday, Oct. 31. On Nov. 17, the 49ers and Cardinals meet at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

Peterson has played all 16 games in every season of his eight-year career.
