Despite his propensity for saying the hated "San Fran," Tom Brady is a born-and-raised Bay Area boy. He grew up in San Mateo and went to Junipero Serra High, and his parents still live in the area. So last month, when he had the rare opportunity to play against the 49ers in California for just the second time in his career, he went all out, inviting dozens of friends and family members to the game.
It went spectacularly sour. The 49ers whipped the Bucs 35-7 in a game that doubled as Brock Purdy's coming-out party; Brady had one of the worst stat lines of his career.
