The San Francisco 49ers Charlie Wedemeyer Memorial Coach of the Week award for week six goes to Mike Ward from Leland High School in San Jose, CA.
Coach Ward and the Leland Chargers won in impressive fashion over the Independence 76ers by a score of 38 – 13 to improve to 5 – 0 on the season. The win was a result of detailed game planning, strong preparation, and maximum effort throughout the game by the Chargers team and coaching staff.
The Chargers set the tone for the game in the opening quarter. The offense of the 76ers looked poised to put together a great opening drive after picking up several quick first down, but Leland shut the opening drive down with two sacks.
