The most recognizable 49ers fan on the planet has a name, and it isn’t “the chair guy,” though Albert Vann has been hearing those three words endlessly since he debuted his spectacularly souped-up ride at a Levi’s Stadium tailgate more than three years ago.
Vann, 58, may have achieved peak notoriety for his current chair, which went viral before, during and after Saturday’s 49ers beatdown of the Seahawks, when he was spotted zooming around the Levi’s Stadium parking lot in a 400-pound custom leather recliner. It’s attached to a motorized wheelchair base he acquired on Craigslist for strictly tailgating purposes that allows him to go for pregame joyrides, to the delight of millions.
