Get scoring updates, news and analysis on Sunday at 10 a.m. when the winless 49ers travel to Philadelphia to face Carson Wentz and the red-hot Eagles.
The 49ers hope to put behind them an embarrassing 40-0 loss to the Cowboys last Sunday but it won’t be easy to do against the 6-1 Eagles, the NFC’s top-rated team.
Wentz threw for 268 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-24 win over Washington that provided Philly with its fifth straight win. Wentz has thrown 17 touchdowns already and is being mentioned among the league’s elite quarterbacks.
The Eagles, though, suffered a couple of major losses when All-Pro left tackle Jason Peters (torn ACL and MCL) and linebacker Jordan Hicks (ruptured Achilles tendon) suffered season-ending injuries.
