The San Francisco 49ers are closer to welcoming back wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk from his devastating ACL and MCL tears suffered in October of 2024.
But, they're not there yet.
There was guarded optimism Aiyuk might be ready to return earlier this season, namely the Week 5 mark after spending the first four weeks on the physically unable-to-perform (PUP) list to start the year.
Despite promising reports of his recovery, that timeline extended, although the duo of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch remained confident the receiver's return was sooner than later.
