Kyle Shanahan and a NFL players union director got into it at 49ers OTAs

Something weird happened at 49ers Organized Team Activities on Wednesday, but reporters are limited in how accurately they can describe it.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan got into what has been variously described as a “tense confrontation” and “quite a moment” with NFL Players Association player director Dwayne Allen. (The 33-year-old Allen was an NFL tight end from 2012 to 2019 and has worked for the players union since 2021.)

Allen “took exception to something in practice,” according to the Mercury News; it could have been “incidental contact” between Deommodore Lenoir and rookie receiver Ronnie Bell.
