There is not much demand or interest in Colin Kaepernick from teams around the NFL, or so ESPN’s John Clayton reports.
Clayton wrote in a piece on ESPN’s website that “It’s debatable whether the 49ers could net much better than a fourth- or a fifth-round pick for Kaepernick.”
That’s a far cry from what the 49ers received in trading Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs three years ago: two 2nd round picks.
Alas, Kaepernick’s star has faded.
While it is not a good idea to keep a disgruntled quarterback on the roster, the 49ers would also be foolish to let an extremely talented player walk away from their team with little to show for it.
