Kaepernick, Dr. Harry Edwards talk before 49ers practice

SANTA CLARA – Dr. Harry Edwards and 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick embraced and had a conversation that lasted several minutes near the team’s weight room on Sunday.

When the discussion was completed, Kaepernick and Dr. Edwards embraced again, and Kaepernick ran out to the practice field to join his teammates.

Dr. Edwards, who works as a consultant with the 49ers, is a well-known sociologist with a long history of advocating for human and civil rights.
