At his introductory press conference, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan joked that all his wide receivers would be freakishly talented former first-round picks in a perfect world.
“I hope to find six Julio Joneses who can give you everything,” Shanahan said.
So what’s the opposite of having six Julio Joneses on a roster?
As it turns out, Shanahan, who coached Jones the past two seasons in Atlanta, might have discovered the answer on his new team.
After the release of Torrey Smith, the 49ers will have one wide receiver with one more than 19 career catches -- Jeremy Kerley - on their roster who is under contract for 2017.
