Jerry Rice backtracks: 'Never used Stickum'

Jerry Rice marveled us all with his catches en route to arguably the best overall career of any player in NFL history.

But the Pro Football Hall of Fame wideout admitted in Feb. 2015 to using an illegal substance when he played called "Stickum," which raised some eyebrows.

"I know this might be a little illegal, guys, but you put a little spray, a little stickum on [gloves], to make sure that texture is a little sticky," Rice said in an ESPN feature on the evolution of gloves.

On Thursday, while Tweeting during the primetime game between the Falcons and Saints, Rice backtracked, saying he never used the substance.
